Push The Boat Out – Let’s get you sailing!
This year we are planning our main Push The Boat Out activities on Saturday 13TH May and… we are inviting people to join us. Join us for social sailing, club racing, and having fun trying sailing as we showcase the club for both new and experienced sailors.
If you are new to sailing then depending on the weather on the day we are offering opportunity to get afloat. Either wishing to start or get back in to sailing, we would love for you to come along.
RVSC will be holding our Push The Boat Out open day on Saturday 13th May between 10:00am and 16:00pm.
There is no need to pre book, and event is free, if you do wish to let us know you are coming along, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Have a sail with an experienced Helm. You will need to bring a change of clothes suitable to sail in and a pair of old trainers!
What to expect on the day
During your taster session it’s likely you’ll sail a boat with an experienced sailor nearby. You get in the boat and they show you the ropes and tell you what you need to get going. They make everything easy to understand and get you ready to have a go.
What will I need to wear?
If you are having a taster session, usually all the equipment you need will be provided including a buoyancy aid. It’s best to turn up with some warm clothes, a pair of old shoes and a waterproof coat as it’s nearly always cooler out on the water than on the shore.
Will I get wet?
If the wind is light or you’re in a more stable steady boat then you’ll only get a few splashes! However if you’re on a windsurfer or in a boat that’s closer to the water, you’ll probably get quite wet however a wetsuit will keep you warm.
