RYA Push The Boat Out 2018 – Let’s get you sailing!
Rossendale Valley Sailing Club, Clowbridge Reservoir, Clowbridge, Burnley, BB1 5PF.
(Just off the A682, Manchester Road)
This year we are running our main RYA Push The Boat Out activities on Saturday 12TH May, and we are inviting you to join us.
If you are new to sailing; then depending on the weather on the day, we are offering you the opportunity to get afloat. Whether you are wishing to start, or get back in to sailing; we would love for you to come along.
RVSC will be holding our Push The Boat Out open day on Saturday 12th May between 10:00am and 16:00pm.
The event is free, however please let us know that you are coming along, via email: firstname.lastname@example.org ,
This will enable us to agree a time slot, and plan your time on the water.
What to expect on the day
During your taster session you’ll sail a boat with an experienced sailor on board, They will show you the ropes and tell you what you need to do to get going. They will make everything easy to understand, and get you ready to have a go.
What will I need to wear?
If you are having a taster session, we will provide a buoyancy aid and we also have a number of wet suits to lend out. It’s best to turn up with some warm clothes, a pair of old trainers and a waterproof coat, as it’s nearly always cooler out on the water than on the shore. If you already have a wet suit, then please bring it along.
Will I get wet?
If the wind is light, or you’re in a more stable steady boat then you’ll only get a few splashes! However if you choose to try windsurfing or a boat that’s closer to the water, you’ll probably get quite wet; a wetsuit will help keep you warm. Hot showers are available in the clubhouse – so don’t forget a towel!
